Pupil premium funding is provided by the government to support disadvantaged pupils with the aim of narrowing attainment gaps between them and their peers. Pupil premium funding is given to schools to support any pupil who is entitled to receive Free School Meals, or who has been entitled to receive them over the last six years as well as for any Looked After Children, adopted or pupils of service parents.
Our Approach
At Erpingham Primary School we recognise all children are unique and that they may experience different needs, at different times, and for different reasons, throughout their time at school. We aim to support all our children to achieve their fullest potential whatever their barriers may be; environmental, social, economic, emotional or cognitive. Our pupil premium spending is targeted to support those pupils to make expected, or better than expected, progress from their starting points. We aim to provide children with the experiences, support and resources they need to develop as learners and make the progress they deserve.
We have high aspirations for all our pupils, we want them to develop a love of learning which builds on their strengths and uniqueness. Our high expectations and our embedded values of love, courage, respect and friendship are key to raising the attainment of our pupils. As Erpingham is a Church of England school we centre our work around the love and nurture of each member of our community aiming to live the following Bible verse in our work…
‘Let us love one another for love comes from God’ – 1 John 4:7
