We learn about Literacy (reading and writing):

• When we post letters to our friends
• When we work in our pre-school post office
• When we match pictures and patterns or hunt for details in pictures
• When we clap our hands to match the sounds in words
• When we join in with our favourite books or guess what might happen next
• We begin to recognise our names and words that are significant to us in our   environment
• We talk about different marks that we make
• We develop our grasp from a palmer grip to tripod grip
