We communicate and develop our language:
- When we talk about things that interest us
- When we listen to each other
- By noticing different sounds when we’re out and about
- By singing songs, saying rhymes and sharing books
- When we take on a role in play
- When we play games like ‘I spy’, ‘What’s in the box?’ or ‘Sound Bingo’
- By creating poems and telling stories which practitioners write down for us through ‘story scribing’
